Electronic Field Trips

Electronic Field Trips

Located outside Washington, DC, along the Chesapeake Bay is the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC). The scientists and educators here explore the biological and physical processes that sustain life on Earth. Since 1965, SERC scientists have researched the aquatic, terrestrial, and atmospheric components of complex ecosystems and applied this knowledge for the improved stewardship of the biosphere.

Explore these processes and components by exploring the science laboratories of SERC. Interactive demonstrations recreate SERC science in the classroom. Students will also discover potential careers in science.
