Guides and Workbooks
Our guides help students explore the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay area, whether they are near the Bay or at home. Please note, however, that some teacher guides are only available to those registered for our education programs. Other programs, such as STAR, don't have a print manual but extensive resources online.
Estuary Chesapeake Teacher Guide
Connected to the Estuary Chesapeake education program for grades 4-6, this manual suggests student activities related to blue crabs, oyster-bar communities, water quality measurements, plankton, and seining. The manual also provides background materials and basic principles in estuarine ecology. Although designed to be used on a field trip to SERC, the guide may be used independently.
