> Self Guided Tours

We are open to the public from 9am to 4:30 pm
Monday through Saturday,
with the exception of federal holidays.
Your last boat should be pulled from the water by 4:00 pm.

> Look no further for a place to launch your own canoe or kayak to explore the Rhode River estuary. In addition to the guided Saturday canoe trips, SERC allows visitors to launch their own non-motorized boats from the dock. Feel free to explore during our hours of operation.

> Upon arrival, please check in at the Reed Education Center. Please read the "Rules and Regulations" below for self-guided trips.

> SERC provides a complimentary canoe trail map brochure for self-guided exploration. These materials are available at the Reed Education Center upon check-in.

> Groups larger than 5 people, organized groups and outfitters are required to call in advance, 443-482-2388. Send an e-mail to mcdonaldk@si.edu.

> If you do not have your own canoe or kayak, you must register for a Guided Tour in order to participate.
