The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center is hosting it's annual Open House for Nature on Saturday May 13th from 9am to 4:30 pm. All activities are free. Visitors can explore our 3,000 acre research site and see what we're doing along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay watershed and around the world. There will be boat rides on the Bay, canoe tours of the marsh, science demonstrations by SERC researchers, and hands-on seining activities to catch fish and blue crabs. There will be face painting, hay rides and crafts, and live music with an open blue grass jam. Visit our website at www.serc.si.edu for directions and parking information. Or call 443-482-2300.
