Biddulphia aurita v. obtusa

Sizes and shapes of individual cells can vary greatly. Spines may or may not be present. A widely distributed species in both neritic and littoral waters. Found in boreal seas and Antarctica. Occasionally found in temperate coastal waters, but not in great numbers. Their size can range from up 61um wide and 12 to 97um long. The total volume averages 1.59x105.
