Odontella rhombus syn Biddulphia rhombus
This Odontella species is thick-walled, low and strongly sculptured. The processes are small and obtuse. Small spines cover the surface with one or two larger spines near the valve center. It is neritic and a temperate to cold water species. Average size is 115u wide x 82.5u long. Total volume averages 8.5x105 cubic microns. Collected near the Ross Sea in November, 2003.
