Detonula confervacea (resting spores shown)

D. confervacea shares similiar charactistics with D. pumila. The single connecting thread through each cell is more pronounced in D. pumila than in D.confervacea. Resting spores are common with D. confervacea and rarely seen in
D. pumila. It is sometimes difficult to see the differences between these two species.
