Ceratium lunula syn Ceratium tripos lunula

This species is a conundrum; the apical horn may appear long in the first cell of a chain or as a single cell and be shorter in subsequent cells in a chain or as a single. The antapical horns are long and evenly rounded. Length runs 100-150µm. Found in subtropical waters, oceanic. Straits of Florida, Carribean Sea and south to Brazil's north coast. This example was collect by net tow from the forereef off Carrie Bow Cay, Belize.
