Protoperidinium elegans

This large cell is recognizable by its long apical and antapical horns. The body is greatly compressed giving the body edge a flipped-up appearance. Found in coastal and oceanic tropical waters with a worldwide distribution. This sample was collected from the forereef area off Carrie Bow Cay.
