Synedra longissima -  view of pair

This long, slender diatom resembles Nitzschia longissima, but differs in its chloroplast volume and arrangement. Its length can reach 300 microns and its total volume is 9.2x10³ cubic microns. This sample was collected in the Twin Cays region off Dangriga, Belize.
