Amylax tricantha syn Gonyaulax tricantha

A small dinoflagellate, 42-60 µm in length, it appears delicate with a tapered apical horn and one or more spines. The spines originate from the antapical and other plates. It appears in coastal cold water along Atlantic and Pacific. (Horner)
