Ceratium vultur

E.J. Ferguson Wood refers to C. vultur as robust in his book Dinoflagellates of the Caribbean Sea and Adjacent Areas, see Taxonomic References. Their size varies, but always have wide epithecas and thick horns that strongly extend from the hypotheca. Frequently seen in pairs or chains. This sample was collected in a net tow from the Atlantic coast off Florida.
