Rhizosolenia stolforthii syn Guinardia striata
Cells range 6-30µ in diameter. Each is is uniformly curved and when joined to other cells appear in uniform chains. Very widespread in neritic waters Common and often abundant. (Cupp 1943) Sample collected in waters off Chatham in the Bay of Bengal.
