Bambusina brebissonii syn. Bambusina borreri, Didymoprium borreri

Size 18µ diameter, 25µ long. Rev. Francis Wolle referred to this as Bambusina brebissonii in 1892 in his book Desmids of the United States. Gilbert M. Smith in 1920 describes a similar species as Gymnozyga moniliformis in his report Phytoplankton of the Inland Lakes of Wisconsin, Part 2. Desmidiaceae. See Taxonomic References.
