Eucampia zoodiacus

A widely distributed species. Prefers cooler water temperatures, but can be found in temperate waters to tropical. This sample came from plankton net tow in the Atlantic off Ft. Pierce, FL. The species does appear in the southern regions of the Chesapeake Bay.
