Nolaclusilis bicornis (?)

This Tintinnine ciliate is fairly common in the Chesapeake Bay, particularly in the lower salinities of the mid to upper bay regions. Its uniqueness lies in its flexible lorica which has the ability to collapse. See Snyder and Brownlee in Taxonomic References for further information on this species.
