Oligotrich species

One of the most common microzooplankton types in the Rhode River and Chesapeake Bay. They occur in all seasons. There are many species included in the Oligotrichia subclass. They are characterized by the wide oral area and the rows of cilia surrounding it. Without special staining techniques it is often difficult to identify specific species.
