Eucampia zoodiacus

The average length of cell is 10-61µ and width up to 45µ. This translates to 1.11x104 cubic microns for larger cells. Species is somewhat cosmopolitan, preferring higher saline waters. The drought of 2002 elevated the salinity in the bay and rivers bringing in many high saline species. Sample collected from lower Patuxent River in the fall of 2002.
