Gyrodinium uncatenum dividing

This is the most common dinoflagellate species in the Rhode River and Muddy Creek during July and August in a normal year. Number of cells per liter range from 2021 to 25,800. Most of the blooms have occured in Muddy Creek, which is a shallow tidal creek.
