Gyrodinium metum - ventral view 

This tiny dinoflagellate is a master of disguises. It has been documented in nearly twenty different forms. See Campbell in Taxonomic References. It averages 6um wide, 9.5um long,with a total volume of 179.07. Collected April to June in the Rhode River.
