Polykrikos schwartzii

This species is a medium to large size pseudocolony at 100-150µ long. Considered a temperate, neteric species. Similar to and often called P. kofoidii. Species differ in width and shape of cells. P. kofoidii has ridges in the hypotheca. This may not be observd in a fixed sample. Frequently found in the Rhode River and Chesapeake Bay during very warm summers.
