Protoperidinium pellucidum syn Peridinium pellucidum

A small to medium-sized cell. It is a common dinoflagellate in the mid to lower Chesapeake Bay. Total volume averages 7.8x104 cubic microns. Though it is occasionally seen in the Rhode River, it most frequently is found in the main bay area of mid-Chesapeake Bay.
