Dictyosphaerium Ehrenbergianum

This cluster is made up of several colonies. The most predominant characteristic of Dictyosphaerium species are their filamentous stalks to which the cells are attached.They can be seen in the photo at the bottom of the cluster. The volume for an individual cell is 65.45µ. This sample came from Back River near Baltimore, MD.
