Ph.D. in Geography (2009) University of Exeter, UK; M.Sc. in Sedimentology & Geomorphology (2001) University of Reading, UK; B.Sc. in Geology (1999) University of Derby, UK. I have research interests in the reconstruction of Holocene relative sea-level, estuarine paleosalinity (and paleo-river discharge) and mid-late Holocene climate variability using various geomorphic, paleoecological and biogeochemical proxy records. I am currently investigating the environmental controls on diatom species distribution and carbon isotope (d13C) variability in the tidal marshes of the Patuxent estuary, Maryland. This research will result in modern training sets that can be used in future reconstructions of Holocene paleosalinity, enabling a river discharge-driven climate record to be reconstructed.
