1) Discuss the feasibility of potential projects and secure sponsorship from one of 17 senior scientists at SERC

2) Submit formal research proposal (postmarked by January 15, 2008) to:

1. Completed cover sheet

2. Research proposal

• Maximum 1 page abstract
• Maximum 6 page research proposal of no more than 1500 words, double-spaced text, including the importance and justification of the proposed research, sponsor identification, work plan, and budgetary needs.

3. Bibliography

4. Curriculum vitae

5. Graduate transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable)

6. Letters of reference from two appropriate persons selected by you in sealed envelopes signed by the referee across the flap.

7. Self addressed, stamped envelope (necessary only if you cannot receive email notification)
