| 11 | CANOE EXCURSION
All Ages
Location: Reed Education Center

Paddle along the shores of Muddy Creek and the Rhode River to learn about one of the many tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. We’ll look for wildlife, eagles, shorebirds, reptiles, and more. This trip is designed for beginning and intermediate paddlers. Basic instruction will be given at the start of the program.

| CITIZEN SCIENCE: REPTILE AND AMPHIBIAN SURVEY
All Ages
Location: Reed Education Center

Reptiles and amphibians are good indicators of the health of our ecosystems. In this survey we’ll visit a part of SERC normally not accessed by the public to look for turtles, snakes, frogs, and salamanders. Long pants and hiking boots suggested.

| NATIVE ORCHIDS OF MARYLAND TALK AND HIKE

Participants will learn about the Native Orchids of Maryland, and research conducted on these orchids here at SERC. We’ll then take a short hike into the woods to look for these orchids in their native habitat. Cost is $8 per person, suggested for ages 15+. Preregistration is required.
