CHESAPEAKE CATCH: FISHERIES RESEARCH AT SERC
Evening Lecture
Location: Schmidt Conference Center
Start: 7:00PM
End: 7:00PM
Speaker: Matt Ogburn

Aquatic life in the Chesapeake is constantly in flux. While Maryland's blue crabs have shown signs of improvement, a big new predator - the nonnative blue catfish - is expanding its range in Maryland's rivers. At SERC, the Fish and Invertebrate Ecology Lab has brought in new cutting-edge technology to help keep tabs on life underwater. Dr. Matt Ogburn will highlight some of the lab’s recent projects and findings with blue crabs, river herring and blue catfish. Lecture begins at 7; light snacks at 6:30.
