| abstract | These data were produced by a U.S. Geological Survey water monitor from 1984 until 1990. This instrument was housed in the dock shed at the end of SERC's wharf on the Rhode River. The USGS monitor recorded hourly observations of conductivity, (micromhos), dissolved oxygen (mg/liter), pH, and temperature. Water was pumped continuously from the river into a tub in which the four sensors were suspended. These hourly observations were punched onto a paper tape which was in turn transcribed by a Stevens Translator in the SERC computer room. These tapes now reside in archival storage. All of the separate data files have been compiled into one Excel file. |
